For a good chunk of my twenties and early (early) thirties, I blogged. At the time, I thought, “This is fun! I like this!” I don’t think that I ever thought they were the best posts ever, but I was proud at the time.
Looking back on those posts, they were, at best, embarrassing, and at worst, deeply disappointing. Apparently, most of my entries were just thinly veiled complaints at some real first world problems.
So, now, I really want to write and feel the keys clicking under my fingers, yet have difficulty figuring out what I want to say. I googled “subjects to write about” and a list came up (thanks, Google). One of the topics on this quick search hit was “materialism” and wouldn’t you know that I already had a draft going about “stuff I love.”
So without further adieu, here’s the completed entry that I had started on May 1st.
Several months ago, I wrote a post about things that I love or truly appreciate. I guess you could say this is part two of that particular train of thought…
Stuff I Love (right now)
- Baby Foot Exfoliant Foot Peel — trust me when I say that this product is both super weird and super awesome. If you have any of that super unattractive dry skin/heel problems, this is a summertime must have. You (and your feet) will thank me!
- This awesome Pineapple container (candle)! — I was perusing Target with a friend a few weeks ago and came across this little guy and was like, “That would be a cute pop of color on my bookshelf in my living room.” And it is. It’s technically a candle, but I’m not using it for the lovely smell.
- This book was cray-zee. — So, I’ve been on a bit of a reading kick in 2018 and my lovely co-worker suggested this book and it was AWESOME. If you’re into mystery/thriller/multiple perspectives, you should read it!
- Amika Dry Shampoo – game changer! –My hair stylist suggested this and not only does it smell AMAZING, but it also is the best dry shampoo I’ve ever used. It’s worth every red cent!
- Woodies Sunglasses — these are my FAVORITE sunglasses! They are cute (I have the pink reflective, purple reflective, and blue reflective lenses) and obviously super affordable since I have 3 pairs! Last year, I went to Galveston with some friends and my friend Brooke was sporting a pair. I thought they were super cute and found that they fit most faces/ears/heads.
- Cool Touch Kleenex — a few years ago, one of my students said that I needed the “good” Kleenex. I told her that she’ll enjoy her generic tissues just fine. She said, “no! I mean, you need to try the ‘Cool Touch Kleenexes!’ They are the best.” I found them the next time I was in Target and have been a BELIEVER ever since. Y’all — these are BALLER.
- This Corkcicle Tumbler — I have been a dedicated Yeti fan until I received this from a friend. While I still love my Yeti tumbler, I do prefer this one. Here’s why: I have smallish hands and these have an indention on both sides that make it a PERFECT tumbler for me. I also like how the lid allows me to open or close it. I do not want to be separated from my new favorite tumbler.
This is all I can think of at the moment. If you happen upon this corner of the interwebs and try any of these out, you can totally thank me with Target gift cards! Hahaha — just kidding. Kind of. 🙂
Peace out!
