and we did

Back in November, I was in Austin visiting with a couple of my friends and mentioned how badly I wanted to go to Boston in 2018.  Ideally, I was thinking it’d be a fun trip over my spring break.  However, my friend Brooke said “Let’s go in January!” and I agreed because why the heck not?

Because it’s wicked cold in Boston in January, but who cares?

I spent this past weekend in Beantown and the whole time I was amazed that we actually did it.  For the majority of my adult years, I’ve just waited for opportunity to travel — whether with my family or friends.  This was the first time that I just kind of winged it and went with my buddy and had a blast.

We went to a restaurant/bar called “Parla” on our first night.  Their menu is this little moleskin style journal with printed pages and blank pages.  On the blank pages, guests can add notes and doodles.  This was my addition to one of the menus:

and yes… I wrote that gem with this bad boy:

This trip was so refreshing and rewarding! We walked the Freedom Trail, took a Trolley Tour, went to a comedy show, enjoyed delicious foods, and took tons of pictures.  We had funny talks, goofy talks, and serious talks.  I’m so very thankful for the opportunity to have this weekend jaunt with an amazing friend.

And, we’ve got plans for something much, much greater this summer. Stay tuned.
