While getting ready for my day this morning, I was washing my face and thought, “There are few things in life as great as the feeling of my Clarisonic scrubbing my face.”
So, the following is a list (not comprehensive, by any means) of things that just feel great.
- Washing your face with a Clarisonic or something similar. They go on sale around this time of year and yes, they make one awesome Christmas gift!
- Sleeping on freshly laundered sheets. I love getting my sheets out of the dryer and putting them on my bed because when I lay down later that night, it’s one of the best feelings in the whole wide world. I always spray my mattress and pillows with Lysol before putting the sheets back on, too. Why? My mom did it, so I do, too. When I think about how many people here in the United States (and especially abroad in third world countries) do not have clean beds and homes to their names, it breaks my heart.
- A good hot shower is a cure all in my world. (Again – see above)
- Going on a long walk or run. This month (October) alone, I’ve walked/ran 21 of the 28 total days. While I have to really give myself positive self talk the first 5 minutes of running (not walking – that guy’s cool), once I get in the groove of my pace, it feels fantastic! And when you’re done, you feel so accomplished and strong.
- Sitting down after cleaning your home. Once you’ve dusted, swept, vacuumed, etc. and your whole abode is nice and clean, you can sit down and relax knowing that you’ve made it healthy and homey.
- Organizing any and every thing. The Container Store is my spirit animal.
- Helping someone do something. It can be as small as picking up a dropped pencil or as large as helping someone move, but you know in your heart there is such a good feeling that comes from helping someone.
- Reading a good book. ‘Nuff said.
What are some of your “things that just make you feel great”?
